Jungle Cruise: Plot and Cast
The film is based on the Disneyland ride where a riverboat ride takes a group of people around a jungle with dangerous animals and reptiles and just a hint of the supernatural.
The film is set during the early 20th century. A shrewd but fair riverboat captain named Frank takes a scientist, Dr. Lily Houghton and her brother, McGregor Houghton around the jungle on a mission to find the Tree of Life.
Dr. Lily Houghton is adventurous, but a brilliant scientist, who wants to do the world some good with the cure she finds from the tree. The tree is supposed to have healing powers, however, they must also face wild animals and some German explorers on the way.
Dwayne Johnson plays Frank while Emily Blunt plays Dr. Lily Houghton and Jack Whitehall plays MrGregor Houghton. Paul Giamatti plays Brooks while Andy Nyman plays Sir James Hobbs-Cunningham. Edgar Ramirez, Jesse Plemons and Quim Gutierrez, Veronica Falcon and Dani Rovira also play roles in the movie.
