Created by David Jenkins, Our Flag Means Death is a period romantic comedy series made for HBO Max. Jenkins is also the executive producer alongside Garrett Basch and Dan Halsted.

The first season of the series premiered on March 3, 2022 and received positive reviews from critics and audiences. It currently holds an approval rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. Considering the positive response, the makers have recently renewed the series for a second season.

Our Flag Means Death Plot and Cast

The developers have not revealed anything on what would happen in Our Flag Means Death Season 2. However, it will continue from where the first season ended.

The series is loosely based on the life of Stede Bonnet. In 1717, Captain Bonnet is a member of the landed gentry of Barbados who abandons his comfortable life and family to prove himself as a pirate during the Golden Age of Piracy, despite having no aptitude for the role.

Sailing aboard his ship the Revenge, Captain Bonnet and his dysfunctional crew struggle to survive against deadly threats from naval warships and other bloodthirsty pirates. During their misadventures the crew of the Revenge cross paths with notorious pirate captain Edward Teach and his crew, including right-hand-man Izzy Hands, and Bonnet and Teach eventually fall in love.

Coming to the cast, we should get to see Rhys Darby, Ewen Bremner, Joel Fry, Samson Kayo, Con O’Neill, Nathan Foad, Vico Ortiz, Kristian Nairn, Matthew Maher, Guz Khan, David Fane, Rory Kinnear, Nat Faxon, Samba Schutte and Taika Waititi.

Our Flag Means Death Season 2 Release Date

The first season of Our Flag Means Death was released in March 2022 and it was renewed for a second season in June 2022. Considering that, Season 2 should premiere by 2023.

The upcoming season might consist of ten episodes like the first season. The series is produced by Piki Films and Human Animals and distributed by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Streaming & Interactive Entertainment.
