Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story: Release Date, Cast, and more!
Written by Shonda Rhimes, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is an upcoming limited series. The series is a prequel spin-off of the Netflix series Bridgerton and will focus on young Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power.
Rhimes is also the executive producer of the series alongside Betsy Beers and Tom Verica. The series consists of eight episodes and will premiere soon.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Plot and Cast
The official synopsis of the story reads: “Centred on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.”
We were previously told in the original series that the reason behind Bridgerton’s color-blind society was King George and Queen Charlotte’s love story, where they defied the odds to create an equal community.
So presumably before their relationship, there would be more of a divide, so there’s a chance that race may come more into play in the spin-off than it does in the main series.
Talking about the cast includes Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, India Amarteifio as young Queen Charlotte, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, Arsema Thomas as young Lady Danbury, Ruth Gemmell as Violet, Connie Jenkins-Greig as young Violet Ledger, Hugh Sachs as Brimsley, Cyril Nri as Lord Danbury, and more.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Release Date
Bridgerton season three is also currently in production, so it’s not known if they’ll be released in quick succession or not, or if Netflix will deliberately space them out so we can get our Bridgerton fix all year round.
Currently, the only thing we know is that Queen Charlotte will launch sometime in 2023.
