Loki is an upcoming brand new American Web television miniseries based on the Marvel comics character of the same name. The series is created for Disney+ by Michael Waldron while Marvel studios would serve as the producer of the show.
Plot
The character which is widely popular for its appearance in Marvel Cinematic Universe films will follow the events of Avengers: Endgame, as Loki would use the Tesseract’s powers to move through space and time and we all know how much we love watching Thor’s notorious brother and his shenanigans. The series would depict the journey and struggles of the mischievous God as the series would take place in an alternate timeline created by Loki after he steals the Tesseract. According to the makers of the series, several questions that fans had regarding Loki would be answered in the series as his character would be taken to an entirely new part of Marvel. Also, according to Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, the series would tie into the 2022 film ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’. While the makers are yet to release an official trailer, you can find links to fan-made trailers and theories about the show.
They have been tweeting and hyping the show like no one else. The wait is expected to get over soon.
Cast
Tom Hiddleston would reprise his role as ‘Loki’, while Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw would also join the cast in undisclosed roles. The veteran actor, Richard E Grant would also be making a guest appearance according to sources.
Release
While the series was officially confirmed in November 2018, filming began in January 2020. It is believed that the series is set to release in early 2021, and will consist of six episodes which would be telecasted weekly.
