Meanwhile, users of Windows and Xbox are going to get a brand new game in this genre and this is called S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl. It is going to be released in single-player mode and this is one of the reasons why gamers are eagerly waiting for the release of the game.

It must be noted that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl was supposed to be released in 2012. CEO of GSC Game World Sergiy Grygorovych was involved at the time and the game was not released as scheduled. There were reports that the delay happened due to the financial issues of Sergiy.

The game eventually entered development by 2014 but a lot of details were not revealed until 2021 and the updated release date this time was April 28, 2022. GSC again suffered a few problems but now it is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2024.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is going to be different compared to the other entries in this franchise. The previous entries emphasized the atmosphere and monsters who could bring any changes to the world. The basic premise of the main series focused on mercenaries and bounty hunters entering a place called Zone where they hunt for treasures and mysteries.

The trailers have disclosed a lot of elements from the previous entries have been retained. A few people have speculated that the gameplay has been possibly updated since technology has changed a lot in the last few years.

The latest trailer has confirmed that the game is going to feature open-world and non-linear mechanics. GSC revealed that there is an A-Life system which will be updated to a new version, featuring more details and potential. Meanwhile, the story details remain unknown for now.

According to GSC, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is going to feature a non-linear storyline. They have said that the choices of the hamers would leave an impact on the outcome in the end.
