Selena: Plot and Cast
Selena Quintanilla was born in Texas and is of Mexican and Cherokee descent. Her father observed her impeccable musical abilities when she was six years old and opened a restaurant so that she and her siblings could perform on stage. After a recession forced them to close the restaurant, the family formed the band Selena y Los Dinos. They performed at weddings, quinceañeras and such.
As she became more popular, her father had to remove her out of school in eighth grade. This way, she could focus better on her musical career. She managed to finish high school, however and even got accepted at a couple of colleges!
