The Beast Must Die: Release Date, Cast, Trailer and More!
Fans of icy noir mysteries on hot summer nights will be pleased to learn that a new title has been added to their must-see list this year. The Beast Must Die, which was commissioned as one of BritBox UK’s first original programs, will broadcast on AMC and its associated streaming service, AMC+, in July.
The Beast Must Die is the latest in a long line of British series that AMC has backed in recent years. The six-episode series will premiere on AMC+ every Monday, followed by a re-airing on the linear AMC cable channel for those who don’t have access to AMC+. This play is based on Cecil Day-Lewis’ novel of the same name.

The show will premiere on AMC+ on July 5 and AMC on Monday, July 12 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. On Mondays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, the remaining episodes will premiere on AMC+ one week ahead of their AMC linear airings.

What is this about?
Frances Cairns quietly pledges to discover her son’s killer after learning that the police investigation into Martie’s fatal hit-and-run on the Isle of Wight has been shelved.
Frances follows a trail of clues to find Lena, the second passenger in the car at the time of the accident. Under the guise of needing research for a fictitious novel she’s writing, Frances strikes up a friendship with Lena and discovers that the person driving the automobile on that tragic day may have been Lena’s brother-in-law, George Rattery.
Frances gets an invitation to Lena’s sister Violet’s birthday party after some deft manipulation. When Frances arrives at George’s opulent mansion, she finally sees the man she believes is her son’s killer, as well as George’s sister, Joy.

DI Nigel Strangeways, who is suffering from PTSD as a result of the recent loss of his colleague DI Shannon Dixon, arrives at the Isle of Wight to take over at Newport Police Station from the recently departed DI Geraghty.
He is the one who informs Frances that the investigation into Martie’s death has been closed. Meanwhile, following an uncomfortable appearance at DI Dixon’s memorial, Strangeways discovers that his deceased colleague’s sister, Niamh, has chosen to file a police negligence complaint. Strangeways do not want to be dragged into this right now.
