The Goldbergs is a period sitcom television series that airs on ABC. The series is created by Adam F. Goldberg, who is also an executive producer on the show along with Seth Gordon and Doug Robinson. The series is based on Goldberg’s childhood and his family in the 1980’s; complete with a chidlhood version of himself as well. The Goldbergs first premiered on ABC on September 24, 2013. Since then, seven seasons of the series have aired so far.

The premise of The Goldbergs is this-

“The Goldbergs is set in the 1980s in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania and shows the reality of the ’80s through a preadolescent’s, and later in the series, teenager’s, eyes. The show is loosely based on the showrunner’s childhood, during which he regularly videotaped events – many of these videos are reenacted throughout the program, with the original version then shown before the end credits.”

The Goldbergs was renewed for a eighth season on May 22, 2020.

Cast of The Goldbergs Season 8

Season 8 of The Goldbergs will star Wendi McLendon-Covey as Beverly Goldberg; Sean Giambrone as Adam Goldberg; Troy Gentile as Barry Goldberg; Hayley Orrantia as Erica Goldberg; Sam Lerner as Geoff Schwartz; AJ Michalka as Lainey Lewis; George Segal as Albert “Pops” Solomon; Jeff Garlin as Murray Goldberg; and Carrie Wampler as Ren. Carrie Wampler’s character, Ren, will be a recurring on the show.

The Goldbergs Season 7 – Ratings

Season 7 of The Goldbergs premiered on September 25, 2019, and ended on May 13, 2020, consisting of 23 episodes. The season had an average rating of 0.87 in the 18-49 demographic, and an average of 4.17 million viewers across the season. It stood at number seven in ABC’s list of scripted shows in 2019-20, in terms of viewership; and at number five in the same list, when sorted by the 18-49 demographic ratings.

The Goldbergs was renewed for an eighth season on May 22, 2020, shortly after the seventh season had finished airing. Season 8 of The Goldbergs will premiere on ABC with two back-to-back episodes on October 21, 2020. The season 8 premiere of The Goldbergs will pay tribute to the 1980 classic, Airplane!
