Created by Scott Smith, The Peripheral is an American Science fiction streaming television series. Produced by Amazon, the show is based on the 2014 book of the same name written by William Gibson.

The Peripheral is produced by Amazon Studios and Warner Bros Television, in association with Kilter Films. The executive producers of the show are Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, Scott Smith, Athena Wickham, Steve Hoban, Vincenzo Natali, and Greg Plageman.

The Peripheral Plot and Cast

The sci-fi thriller drama was created by Scott B. Smith. Based on the bestselling novel by William Gibson, it’s described as a dazzling, hallucinatory glimpse into the fate of mankind — and what lies beyond.

The book centres on Flynne and her brother Burton. In the novel, Burton, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps’ elite Haptic Recon force, is hired for a security job that takes place in what he thinks is cyberspace. When Flynne temporarily takes his place, she witnesses something that might have been murder.

The main cast includes Chloë Grace Moretz as Flynne Fisher, Gary Carr as Wilf, Jack Reynor as Burton Fisher, Eli Goree as Conner, Charlotte Riley as Aelita, JJ Feild as Lev, Adeline Horan as Billy Ann Baker, T’Nia Miller as Cherise, Alex Hernandez as Tommy Constantine and Austin Rising as Leon.

We will also get to see Louis Herthum as Corbell Pickett, Chris Coy as Jasper, Melinda Page Hamilton as Ella, Katie Leung as Ash and Alexandra Billings as Detective Ainsley Lowber.

The Peripheral Release Date

There’s no official release date yet for “The Peripheral.” Amazon has been publicly talking about adapting the book since 2018, just four years after it was released, but are only now filming it.

According to The Citizen-Times, “The Peripheral” was filmed on location in London this Spring and will move to North Carolina in September, so fans can likely expect to watch it sometime in 2022.
