Created by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble, The Sex Lives of College Girls is a teen comedy-drama streaming television series. It first premiered on HBO Max on November 18, 2021.

Kaling and Noble are also the executive producers alongside Howard Klein, Charlie Grandy, Matt Warburton, and David Gordon Green. The series has been renewed for the second season in December 2021, scheduled to premiere soon.

The Sex Lives of College Girls Plot and Cast

Since season 1 ended with a ton of drama, there’s plenty of material to work with for season 2. For starters, Kimberly reveals that she is not expelled after being caught cheating on the exam. However, she loses her scholarship and struggles with money throughout the season.

The only way she can manage to go to Essex is by participating in a work-study program that keeps her afloat along with the much-needed scholarship. However, she has to find upwards of $20,000 a semester to stay in school.

Leighton and Alicia break up as a result of the former’s resistance and in the aftermath, Leighton shares her truth with Kimberly. In the upcoming season, we can expect this legacy to continue to confront her reasons for wishing to stay in the closet and Kimberly by her side to support her.

Bela manages to get Ryan kicked out of the Catullan after he sexually harasses her twice. Despite this, she faces animosity from make staffers, forcing her to quit. Two female writers from The Catullan quit and pitch Bela on starting their own women’s comedy magazine.

Coming to the cast, we might get to see Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Renee Rap, Alyah Chanelle Scott, Gavin Leatherwood, Midori Francis, and others in the lead roles.

The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2 Release Date

On December 7, 2021, HBO Max renewed the series for a second season, and filming for the second season began in late April 2022. Considering that, the developers have set to release the next season on Nov 17, 2022, on HBO Max.

The first season of the series has received positive reviews from critics and audiences, and currently holds a 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
