The Three Stooges was a comedy film based on the comedy trio of the same name. The original Three Stooges comedy trio was active for nearly fifty years during the previous century, from 1922 to 1970. The film, The Three Stooges, released in 2012. It was based on the short length films from the comedy trio and was directed by the Farrelly Brothers. Along with the Farrelly Brothers, Mike Ferone had co-written the film. The film was set in modern times and had come to fruition after over a decade of casting problems. 20th Century Fox were the distributors of the film.
C3 Entertainment, one of the production companies behind The Three Stooges, also have plans for a prequel to the film, titled The Three Little Stooges.

The Three Little Stooges- What we know so far
The film was earlier planned to be a sequel to The Three Stooges. Chris Diamantopoulos, Sean Hayes, and Will Sasso would have been reprising their respective roles. The film was announced in 2015, and production was supposed to begin in 2018. Cameron Fay was hired to write the script for the sequel. However, the plans for a sequel were abandoned. A prequel movie, instead of a sequel, was announced. Cameron Fay also announced on Twitter that he was no longer working on the film.
C3 Entertainment’s official website reads the plot of The Three Little Stooges to be-
“When 12-year-old Larry, Moe and Curly are mistakenly sent to an elite private school for the rich and powerful, they learn of an evil plot to destroy the school, and the boys embark on a mission to stop it from happening.”
The Three Little Stooges is directed by Sean McNamara. The screenplay of the film is written by Harris Goldberg. The film will star Gordy De St Jeor as Moe, Liam Dow as Larry and Luke Clark as Curly. The casting for the role of Izzy and Harriet “Hurricane” Snootley is yet to be finalized.

The Three Little Stooges began production in October 2019. As of right now, no official release date has been announced for The Three Little Stooges.
