Developed by Jóhann Ævar Grímsson from an idea of Endre and Søren Stærmose, “Thin Ice” is a Swedish climate thriller starring David Gudbrandsson, Gudjon Ragnarsson, Lena Endre, and centers on the attack and disappearance of a research vessel outside Green, while the Arctic Council is trying to agree on an agreement that prohibits environmentally harmful oil drilling in the region that made its first broadcast on February 3, 2020, on TV4.

An oil ship is hijacked during an Arctic climate conference where a treaty is about to be signed. Was the hijacking a result of the treaty or for some other reason?
The attack of a Swedish oil research vessel and the kidnapping of its crew lead intelligence officer, Liv, to the small village of Tasiilaq to investigate. There, she discovers rising tensions among local officials, on the brink of signing a treaty to prevent harmful oil drilling in the Arctic. Phone and internet connections to the town have been cut, and witnesses are being killed, all it seems, to prevent the treaty from being signed.
