B Positive: Plot and Cast
The show is about a newly divorced therapist named Drew who discovers that he is in the first stages of renal failure. If he doesn’t get a kidney transplant, he might become terminally sick. He runs into one of his acquaintances from high school named Gina at a wedding who offers him her kidney on the spot.
At first he suspects Gina’s intentions and also feels weird about the offer, so he turns her down. But after struggling to find a donor, she turns back to Gina when he finds out they both share the same blood group: B+.
When he finds Gina drunk in her apartment, even when she was given strict instructions not to consume alcohol or drugs for three months, he starts to believe she was not serious about giving her kidney to him. However, she is his last chance.
Thomas Middleditch plays Drew while Annaleigh Ashford plays Gina, a bus driver at the senior center.
