Liang is a Chinese American woman. She dropped out of college. In order to gain life experience, she goes to a marooned monastery in China. After her return, she finds that her country is polluted with crimes and social issues. In order to put criminals behind the bars, she uses her martial skills and values obtained from Shaolin. She finds that her mentor is killed and now the target is on her. What happens next is the storyline of the new Kung Fu series.

Olivia Liang plays the lead role of Nicky Chen. Khen Hua Tan, Jon Prasida, Gavin Stenhouse, Tzi Ma, Eddie Liu, and Shannon Dang are the other members of the cast of Kung Fu Reboot series. The scheduled time for the release of the Kung Fu series is between 2020 and 2021. However, there might be a delay in the release owing to the present pandemic situation. Christina Kim is the writer behind the series. She is also an executive producer. The producers are Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schecter of Berlanti Productions and also Quinn’s House.

Initially, the CW has chosen two titles. The other one is The Republic of Sarah. It deals with a high school girl Stella who attempts to form a country.
