Who is Finn’s love in ‘Rise of Skywalker’?

John Boyega of Skywalker recently revealed that he wanted Finn to have a romantic relationship with Jannah, and not with Poe or Rey. Boyega has been seen playing Finn opposite Poe, Rey, and Jannah but failed to develop a romance with either of them. Fans are confused as to whom he would wish he had been in love with. After the release of the final sequel in the trilogy film, Rise of Skywalker, fans almost adopted the theory that Finn would love Rey. A recent tweet by John Boyega stands in contrary to this wide accepted opinion.

Romance is an indispensable part of Star Wars franchise but not always fans want romance in Star Wars films. If a question is asked to a Star Wars fan, “What will you consider to be the greatest romance of all time?” he will blindly answer, “The relationship between Han Solo and Princess Leia, undoubtedly!”

In his tweet, John Boyega has written- “This warrior stole Finn’s heart”, posting the picture of Jannah, the first order Stormtrooper. He also adds, “Had so many conversations with Naomi like, when are we kissing like Han and Leia!!!”

Finn and Poe

J.J Abram’s first entry into the trilogy, The Force Awakens [2015] is marked by the relationship between Oscar Isaac [Poe] and John Boyega [Finn]. Many fans believed that a true romance sprang up between the two. Regarding this, Isaac has taken to social media that he wished there will be a gay relationship between them but people are very afraid.

Finn and Rey

With The Last Jedi hitting the screens, the idea of Rey and Finn being together has become an unsupported one. But still, many fans believed that there was a true relationship between Finn and Rey. Rey was Finn’s bestie. The character of Rey was presented to us by Daisy Ridley.

The Rise of Skywalker, the final installment in the trilogy attempted to tighten all loose ends in the previous films. But it failed miserably in establishing a firm love for Finn. When asked about what Finn was trying to tell Rey, Abram said- “No! Finn was not going to say I love you before sinking”. Instead, he wanted to tell that he was Force-sensitive.

Finn and Jannah

Finn is surprised to know that Jannah is also a first-order trooper because until then he assumed that he was the only defector from the first order. After the release of the film in 2019, John has now revealed that he wanted Finn to get close to Jannah.

A fan has tweeted that Finn has been presented with four potential options in three movies but he chose to use none. He wasted opportunities. Lack of romance between Finn and other characters of the film is still viewed as a black mark in the story’s plot.
