Deep Water: Release Date, Plot and Updates!

After several years of production, upcoming psychological thriller Deep Water chooses the day of November 13, 2020, for the official release in the United States. If the situation permits, then the scheduled date might remain the same. Page-to-screen movies had been doing great for the past few years and director Adrian Lyne kept that in view and got the idea of the movie from the book of the same name written by Patricia Highsmith. The screenplay had been done by Zach Helm and Sam Levinson for 20th Century Studios. Deep Water is a very special movie for Lyne since it’s his comeback after an 18-year absence since his last film Unfaithful (2002).

The official outline of Deep Water goes like this, “A well-to-do husband who allows his wife to have affairs in order to avoid a divorce becomes a prime suspect in the disappearance of her lovers.” According to the book, the narrative with subtlety exposes the surface facade of American suburban life. Well, not much has been disclosed about the storyline and most of them are under the covers, understandable since it’s a psychotic-thriller and might ruin the excitement of the audience. It is also said that it is going to an erotic thriller. Hoping that they would follow the plotline of the book, and not change much and sabotage the fun of those who already read the novel.

The casting is excellent for Deep Water. Ben Affleck is going to play Vic Van Allen, Ana de Armas as Melinda Van Allen, Tracy Letts as Lionel, Rachel Blanchard as Maggie, Lil Rel Howery as Miles, Finn Wittrock as Nick, Dash Mihok as Tom, Jacob Elordi as Ricky, Kristen Connolly as Jackie, Jade Fernandez as Jennifer, Michael Braun as Jeff Peterson, and Michael Scialabba as Kevin Washington. Deep Water is produced by Arnon Milchan, Steven Zaillian, Garrett Basch, Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner, and Anthony Katagas.
