Created by Kenya Barris, Peter Saji, and Tracee Ellis Ross, “Mixed-ish”, the third entry in the ‘Black-ish’ franchise after the eponymous series ‘Grown-ish’ is an American single-camera sitcom television series that follows Rainbow Johnson who recounts her experience growing up in a mixed-race family in the ’80s, and the dilemmas of acclimating to the suburbs while staying true to themselves. The show made its debut on September 24, 2019, with a set of 23 episodes.

The Jackson-Johnson family relocates to a suburb in 1985 after spending years in a hippie community. The cultural shock is not only felt by the three children but also their parents. Alicia begins working under her father-in-law, while Paul happily embraces his role as a stay-at-home father.
