Gomorrah Season 4: Release Date, Upcoming season and more!

Fans of Sodom and Gomorrah will rejoice. According to the Italian blog Coming Soon, not only has Gomorrah Season 4 been shot, but it has also been renewed for a fifth season. The Italian TV series originally aired on Sky Atlantic in the United Kingdom, but it was recently switched to HBO Max in the United States.

Season 3 of Gomorrah premiered on HBO Max on January 21, 2021. Seasons 1 and 2 are also available to watch on the site. We can confidently predict that Gomorrah season 4 will premiere on HBO Max no later than Spring 2021. It’s also worth noting that Max has secured the rights to the forthcoming fifth and final season, which will premiere in Italy in 2021.

Character arcs, plot, script, pace, backdrops, and performances have all received high praise for Gomorrah. The series is a rating driver for Sky One, and it is one of the channel’s most-watched cable shows. Season 1 premiered on SundanceTV in the United States on August 24, 2016. Netflix already has the first two seasons online.

HBO Max announced in July 2020 that it had obtained the rights to ‘Gomorrah.’ In a tweet, HBO Max’s chief content officer and president of TNT, TBS, and TruTV, Kevin Reilly, confirmed the report:

“We are building strong collaborations as we source distinctive fare from top international partners for our U.S. viewers, also with an eye to the near future when we will look to these partners to supply locally as we expand HBO Max internationally.”

The Gomorrah Season 4 synopsis:

The new season of Gomorrah specifically focuses on Genny (Salvatore Esposito), the sole Savastano dynasty survivor: a character who has transformed from Don Pietro’s spoiled brat to the family boss, husband, and father by shedding countless skins. In reality, he is on his best behavior in the new season for the sake of Azzurra (Ivana Lotito) and little Pietro: with his own family to protect and an activity to restart, he feels the need for a big life change, committing to legitimate business while sneaking out as best he can from the world his father forced him to grow up in

According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO Max had previously acquired the first two seasons of the show’s American streaming rights, taking it away from Netflix. Gomorrah Season 3 will premiere on January 21. HBO Max also has the rights to Gomorrah Season 4, Season 5, and the movie spinoff The Immortal, according to THR.

About the Show

Gomorrah is an Italian crime drama produced by Roberto Saviano that premiered on Sky Atlantic in its home country on May 6, 2014. The plot is based on Saviano’s book of the same name. It revolves around Ciro Di Marzio (Marco D’Amore), who is a member of the Savastano family, which is led by Pietro Savastano (essayed by Fortunato Cerlino). Ciro’s main goal in life is to manage the criminal world’s myriad challenges while living in the middle of a vicious civil war. His wife Immacolata, son Gennaro, and rival crime boss Salvatore Conte are among the other Savastano members.
