Bombshell: Plot and Cast
Fox network owner and Australian media mogul Rupert Murdoch owns a number of newspapers and media outlets around the world. Many of them have been accused of spreading biased news, especially Fox News, which has been spreading right-wing propaganda in the United States.
The movie is based on several women at Fox News who tried to expose the CEO of Fox News, Roger Ailes, for sexual harassment at the workplace. Journalist and attorney Megan Kelly (played by Charlize Theron) co-moderated the 2016 Presidential Debate. During the debate, she asked Donald Trump about the offensive comments he made towards women, and subsequently, received a lot of insulting comments for the action.
Gretchen Carlson (played by Nicole Kidman) received pressure to wear short dresses as well as a lot of sexist comments by Roger Ailes (played by John Lithgow) and decides to sue him for sexual harassment.
Meanwhile, Kayla Pospisil (played by Margot Robbie) is also sexually harassed by Ailes after sleeping with colleague Jess Carr (played by Kate McKinnon). The three of them, along with other women, file lawsuits against Ailes and manage to get him fired as well as receive settlements in millions of dollars.
