Charm City Kings: Plot and Cast
The movie is a coming of age drama about a fourteen year old boy, Mouse. He desperately wants to join the Baltimore extreme dirt biker gang called Midnight Clique. However, he also wants to become a veterinarian, which will mean forsaking his biking dream. Stuck in this dilemma, he deals with multiple events, including the death of his brother Stro.
Stro was shot and killed, which leads to Mouse idolising him. This annoys his mother Terri and cop Detective Rivers, who is worried about Mouse all the time. While Mouse contacts Rivers every single time he gets into a scrape, he also tries to hide his relationship with the detective from his friends.
The main point that the movie wants to drive is: who raises black boys and who do they look up to? Mouse tries to run away from figures who tell him what to do and leans more towards people like ex-con Blax and Midnight Clique leader Jamal, who give him the chance to act like an adult.
Jahi Di’Allo Winston plays Mouse, Meek Mill plays Blax, Will Catlett plays Detective Rivers and Teyonnah Parris plays Terri.
