Charmed is an American fantasy drama series created by Jennie Snyder Urman, Jessica O’Toole, and Amy Rardin. It is a revival of the WB series of the same name, produced by Constance M. Burge, initially broadcast between 1998 and 2006. Carter Covington acted as showrunner for the first season and was replaced for the second season by the married couple Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro.

Charmed debuted in the United States on 14 October 2018 on The CW. The lives of three sisters—Macy (Madeleine Mantock), Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie (Sarah Jeffery)—who, after the death of their mother, learned that they were The Charmed Ones, the most powerful trio of good witches, destined to protect innocent lives from demons and other evil powers. Every sister has an internal magic power, which is significantly greater as all three sisters work together as the “Power of Three” to fight their enemies. The Sisters are assisted by the Whitelighter, Harry Greenwood (Rupert Evans), a counsellor who defends and advises witches. In January 2019, CW revived the series for the second season, which opened on 11 October 2019.

Charmed Plot:

Originally set in the fictitious college town of Hilltown, Michigan, the series starts with the sisters Mel and Maggie Vera living with their mum, Marisol, who is shortly afterwards assaulted and killed by a mysterious dark force. Three months later, Mel and Maggie learned that they had an older half-sister, Macy Vaughn, who had been kept secret by their mother for years but had recently relocated to Hilltown to take a new job at the nearby university. After the first time, the sisters were under the same roof, they suddenly started to demonstrate new supernatural abilities; the oldest Macy was given the power of telekinesis, the middle sister Mel could freeze time, and the youngest Maggie could hear people’s minds. Shortly thereafter, their Whitelighter—a mentor who protects and advises witches—Harry Greenwood brings the three sisters together and admits to them that they are witches, just as their mother was. Marisol had bound the powers of her daughters when they were born to shield them and allow them to live normal lives, but she was in the process of unbinding her powers the night she was murdered. In the end, the Sisters embrace their new fate as The Charmed Ones, the most powerful trio of good witches who shield innocent lives from demons and other evil powers.
