Creaks – New puzzle game coming up by Amanita Design

Creaks is an adventure puzzle game created by Amanita Design. It’s Amanita Design’s first big game which isn’t a point & clicks adventure. The announcement was made on 9 October 2018.

Jakub Dvorský said that the creation of the Dev took 7 years. It is built by a small Amanita Design team headed by Radim Jurda. Jurda worked on the game alone much of the time. Although he formed his team in Amanita Design in 2018.

Creaks is a strategy game based on solving puzzles. The player controls a human who, across the subterranean environment, journeys into the house of numerous monsters. The player has to stop these monsters and solve the puzzles to make progress through the game.

Trailer

During the PlayStation Indies broadcast, the game was displayed. A new trailer is released. Players in Creaks visit a massive, sprawling house that is home to some strange creatures. Any of these are deadly creatures that can pose a threat to the player, called creaks. When you strike them with light, they can turn into furniture that can be used to solve the game’s puzzles.

Gameplay

The disorder pareidolia, the neurological experience of “reading objects” like shapes or faces in textures, is one of the inspirations behind Creaks’ design. Scottish musician and multi-instrumentalist Joe Acheson has been consulting with Creaks on the score. The music will combine with the hand-drawn artwork that makes up the production theme of the Creaks.

As soon as you start playing Creaks, you can get the impression that under the tiny space of the hero there is something very strange happening. One can’t wait to explore that strange little created universe. Hope users can love navigating the dark corners of the decaying mansion, solving puzzles, and unraveling what causes all the mayhem.

The 2018 release of the studio’s Chuchel shunned most traditional adventure game trappings for a crazy slapstick rage-comedy journey. It was fantastically good. It somehow manages to sustain this excitement level through its entire running time.

Creaks haven’t set a launch date yet, but Amanita said it’ll be out later this month.
