The upcoming period drama TV series, Dangerous Liaisons is an adaptation of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’s novel, titled Les Liaisons Dangereuses. The 18th-century classic is accepted to be amongst the most celebrated novels of its time. The tale is about a narcissistic young couple who turn into rivals as they mercilessly manipulate and seduce people around them in the thirst for acquiring power. The series is written and created by Harriet Warner, who is also the executive producer of the show alongside Colin Callender, Tony Krantz, Bethan Jones, Scott Huff, and Christopher Hampton. Dangerous Liaisons: Plot and Cast
Set in the backdrop of the pre-French Revolution, Dangerous Liaisons depicts the story of two young lovers, Merteuil and Valmont, who hail from the slums of Paris. The tale is that of how the two turned into foes from romantic friends and elevated to the status of French aristocracy through an array of manipulations, exploitations, betrayals, and unlawful schemes. The constant oscillation between love and war is what brings spice and excitement into the plot of the series.
