Drifters is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kouta Hirano. An anime television adaptation aired between October 7, 2016, and December 23, 2016. Drifters have been nominated twice for the annual Manga Taisho Awards, in 2011 and 2012. In the Crunchyroll, writers said that “Drifters has all but jumped the shark by belligerently knocking over all the narrative pillars of the genre.” In a survey on the Japanese website Anime Anime!, Drifters was placed fifth among top 10 manga series to be adapted into an anime!
Drifters Season 2 Release Date
At the end of the anime’s twelfth episode, a second season was announced with the message “See you again Tokyo 20xx” but there is no exact launch or release date. According to sources, the second season of Drifters might be released in October this year.
Cast Of Season 2
The characters who are most likely to be seen in season 2 are Shimazu Toyohisa who is the main protagonist of the show. He is the leader of the Drifters. Oda Nobunaga is also likely to appear in season 2. He is a famous warlord and is the group’s military strategist. Nasu Suketaka Yoichi is the youngest in the group and the most level headed of the trio. There is not much information on any of the other characters.
Plot Of Drifters
The story begins with Toyohisa severely injured in a battle and then he is transported to another world by this man called Murasaki. There, he meets other warriors who have been sent here like him to be a part of this group called “Drifters”.
This world contains both native humans and elves, dwarves and hobbits. But this world is at war with the humans losing against great warriors called the “Ends”. The Ends include terrible creatures like giants and dragons who destroy everything in their path. This group called “Octobrist Organization”, consisting of native human magicians bring together the many individual Drifters to save their world.
