The NBC sitcom finished seven successful seasons. Now it is readying itself for another ride. Meanwhile, the show’s cast and crew reveal how the series will take up current issues of racism and brutality in its upcoming season. How Brooklyn Nine-Nine takes up current issues for its Season 8? Scroll down to know more about what the showrunners got to say.
The success of Season 7 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine
The seventh season ended with a happy note. The cast and the fans are happy to welcome the new baby boy of Amy and Jake. The season was a huge success like its previous ones. So the fans are all excited to watch another season. There is no official information on the release date of the eighth season. It can be expected anytime soon.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is an amazing show dealing with police procedures. It is one of the popular American comedy shows. Dan Goor and Michael Schur are the extraordinary creators of this show. As of now, the show has 143 incredible episodes and still, the number keeps increasing.
Black Lives Matter and Brooklyn Nine-Nine
After the unfortunate killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, television shows are facing dilemmas. This has a huge impact on the portrayal of cops in the entertaining shows. Million people are protesting on the streets upholding #BlackLivesMatter. At this time, enough attention is required in making police-related shows. Brooklyn Nine-Nine takes up the issue of racism and police brutality in its upcoming season.
Terry Crews, lead actor in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, in a chat show- Late Night with Seth Meyers, shares, “Definitely. We all got on a Zoom call just the other day because of what’s happening in this country. We were witnessing so many abuses of power. We had some somber talks and some eye-opening conversation about how to handle this new season.”

It is not the first time, Brooklyn Nine-Nine says that it is going to deal with racism. It already did. In an episode called Moo Moo, Terry is profiled as a criminal, despite being a cop himself. The police arrested him just because he was Black and looked suspicious. Then Terry shows his badge. Only after that things get light.
Fate of Cop shows
Owing to the current crisis in America, many cop shows are postponed. Paramount Network’s Cops, Live PD, Season 2 of LA’s Finest, are quite a few examples. We don’t know if these shows will return to the television. Even if they return, any controversial scene will become a hot topic. So the makers need to pay attention to their shows. No surprise if these shows take up the current issues and change their storyline. Anything and everything is possible here. Fans await each of the show eagerly to note what they have in their minds.

Cast of Brooklyn help Protesters
We are aware of the present situation. Coupled with the current pandemic situation, America also focuses on the protests supporting Black Lives. People leave their homes and come down to streets to uphold the cause. At a pressuring situation like this, Brooklyn extended its generous arms to the protesters. The cast has generously contributed to the National Bail Fund Network. NBF is an organization working for paying bail and bond funds of the protesters.

All episodes of all seven seasons are available on the streaming platform Hulu. We must be happy that the series takes up social issues in the upcoming season. But we don’t know how far the plot will be affected by the infestation of issues. Stay connected with us to know more about how Brooklyn Nine-Nine solves this mystery.
