Mafia: Definitive Edition release date is postponed! New Release Date and Gameplay!

Mafia: Definitive Edition is an action game that is created by Hangar 13 and distributed by 2K Games. A remake of the 2002 Mafia video game, was revealed in May 2020. It is set to be released for Windows, PS4, and Xbox One in September 2020.

Release Date

The launch date for the Mafia Definitive Edition is pushed back almost a month because of the raging COVID-19 pandemic. According to the official announcement of the 2 K project, the rebuild will be launched on September 25 instead of the initial scheduled date of August 28.

Mafia: Definitive Edition gameplay was leaked before it was publicly released. The 14-minute action offers a new atmosphere that claims not to be a shot-for-shot replay.

Gameplay

The game is set inside a reconstructed 1930s version of Lost Heaven’s fictional town. This follows the rise and fall of Tommy Angelo, a cab driver-turned-mobster, inside the crime family Salieri.

Conceived as a complete overhaul of the original, Mafia: Definitive Edition was developed from the ground up with new materials and an extended plot while missions and storylines remain carried over from the original title. As in the 2002 title, Tommy Angelo is controlled by players in the single-player campaign of the title, and the environment is navigated on foot or by vehicle. The addition of motorcycles is new to the reboot, a first in the series.

As a remake developer, Hanger 13 is keen to recreate the original’s feeling and the particular sequence’s feeling. Notwithstanding the intention, Tommy’s voice actor for the Mafia reboot has been recast.

Mafia: Definitive Edition looks like the original game will be a good reboot. Hanger 13’s last venture, Mafia 2, has been poorly received with graphic glitches and game-breaking bugs since its publication.

A good aspect is that Mafia: Definitive Edition will use Mafia 3’s new controls. The challenge will be more based on skills than on managing, and a simple mode may also be made accessible to those interested.
