Mixed-ish is an American single-camera sitcom television. Kenya Barris, Peter Saji and Tracee Ellis Ross created the show. This series premiered on ABC part of the Tuesday night lineup on September 24, 2019. This show is a prequel spin-off of Black-ish. It is also the second series to be spun off from the primary series after the Freeform series Grown-ish.
The show received a wide range of comments and reviews from the audience. It also has a good score on TV websites. The series has 87% likes on Google, 80% likes on Rotten Tomatoes and a rating of 6.3/10 on IMDb.
“I find this show to be cute and fun. I love the characters, they do a nice job of making what I would call a “woke” show without being too preachy and injecting some nice humor. I love how idealistic the couple is and how the grandfather and sister throw down with some reality. I always find myself enjoying the scenes where they are coming together. Overall a nice show that brings up real-world issues without feeling like you are getting a lecture. Now saying all this, my partner thinks it is preachy, but hey, the man likes some German sci-fi show and neither of us speaks a word of german.” posted a reviwer on Google.

According to Wikipedia, “Loosely based on the early life of Dr. Rania Barris (co-creator Kenya Barris’ wife), the series chronicles the childhood years of Rainbow Johnson as she recounts her experience growing up in a mixed-race family in the 1980s. The family faces dilemmas over whether to assimilate or stay true to themselves when Rainbow’s parents move from a hippie commune to the suburbs in 1985.”
