The Alienist Season 2: What are the release dates?

It is a great occasion for fans to find out that their favorite detectives from the show Alienist will be back on the streets of 19^th century New York to decode crime mysteries. The first season of Alienist was acclaimed to be one of the best shows of the year back in 2018. The show airs on TNT Television network. The series is also available on Netflix.

News about The Alienist season 2 release dates

In consequence of the overwhelming response received by the show, TNT officially renewed The Alienist for one more season on August 16, 2018. Though no official release date of season 2 is out yet, the fans expect its premiere anytime at the end of 2020 or in the beginning of 2021.

The Alienist Season 2 Cast

In season 2 we will see Daniel Brühl as Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, Luke Evans as John Schuyler Moore, Brian Geraghty as Theodore Roosevelt, Robert Ray Wisdom as Cyrus Montrose, Douglas Smith as Marcus Isaacson, Matthew Shear as Lucius Isaacson, Q’orianka Kilcher as Mary Palmer, Matt Lintz as Stevie Taggert and Dakota Fanning as Sara Howard. It is apparent that the main star cast of the first season will return to the screen for this season as well.

The Alienist Season 2 Plot

The first season was based on the crime thriller novel ‘The Alienist’ by Caleb Carr. The second season will be based on the sequel of that novel titled ‘The Angel of Darkness’. The sequel is also authored by Carr. Both novels were bestsellers in their times.

In the second season, we shall see Sarah Howard as a private investigator. She seeks the help of Dr. Kreizler to trace a child of a Spanish official who has been kidnapped. However, we may expect a few deviations from this storyline if the show strictly doesn’t follow the plot of Carr’s sequel novel.

No official trailer for season 2 is out yet. But the fans are very excited about the much-awaited season 2 and hope the coronavirus pandemic doesn’t push back the release dates.
