Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, The Elder Scrolls VI is an upcoming action role-playing video game that is published by Bethesda Softworks. The game will be the sixth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following 2011’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and is scheduled to be released for Windows and Xbox consoles.

The Elder Scrolls VI Gameplay

A lot of details about the gameplay for The Elder Scrolls VI has not been revealed yet but it is reported to be set in Hammerfell. The social media page of the game also shared a picture where Skyrim’s map was featured and fans were trying to find a clue in the photo. The world Hammerfell is being searched on the internet ever since the game was announced.

Bethesda shared a teaser back in 2018 where gamers were able to see a lot of mountains and plains and they are believed to High Rock or Hammerfell. Another picture of Skyrim was shared in 2020 due to which the theories ignited again.

The teaser of the game has shown a small scratching on the console of the ship and it is believed that the game would take everyone to the home of the Redguard people. The game will be built on Creation Engine 2 which means that gamers can prepare themselves for a lot of fun. Further details about the gameplay are expected to be revealed soon.

The Elder Scrolls VI Release Date

Todd Howard is the one who was leading the entire video game and he has done the same for the rest of the installments in the entire franchise along with games that have been developed by Bethesda Game Studios. The Elder Scrolls VI is the second installment of the franchise that has been developed at the in-house engine of the studio called Creation Engine 2 after Starfield which was released in 2023. The pre-production phase started back in 2018 and the game’s official announcement was made at the Electronic Entertainment Expo of Bethesda. The main production of the game started after Starfield was completed and launched.

Phil Spencer provided an update on the game’s release timing at a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) hearing concerning Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision-Blizzard, stating that the title was still estimated to be “five plus years away” from launch and that any target platforms were undecided at that particular stage in June 2023. It is also confirmed that The Elder Scrolls VI will be released sometime in 2026.
