The medical dramas are becoming quite famous among the vast array of web series of various flavors. Starting with Grey’s Anatomy to New Amsterdam to Transplant, the shows’ impeccable performances made them get a rank in everyone’s favorite’s list. And the American medical drama, The Good Doctor was no lesser, and hence, undoubtedly got renewed for the fourth season by ABC this February. Even though it is said that the shooting for season 4 has started this August, but nothing has been announced regarding the release date, and it might return to Mondays later this or next year. The Good Doctor is based on the 2013 award-winning South Korean series of the same name and has been developed by David Shore along with Daniel Dae Kim serving as the executive producer. The production companies involved are Sony Pictures Television and ABC Studios in association with production companies Shore Z Productions, 3AD, and Entermedia.
The description of The Good Doctor on the official ABC website goes like this, “Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, continues to use his extraordinary medical gifts at St. Bonaventure Hospital’s surgical unit. As his friendships deepen, Shaun tackles the world of dating for the first time and continues to work harder than he ever has before, navigating his environment to prove to his colleagues that his talents as a surgeon will save lives.” Apart from character development and medical accuracy, the show aims at breaking the stereotypes and keeping them emotionally inspiring. Even the medical students and aspirants find the show motivating. On the other hand, some complain that the writing is slow and there are scenes that they couldn’t manage to make them realistic. Some acts were even overdramatic. But on the brighter side, The Good Doctor did a perfect job of creating awareness about autism and how to treat autistic people around them.
The show stars Freddie Highmore, Antonia Thomas, Nicholas Gonzalez, Hill Harper, Richard Schiff, Tamlyn Tomita, Will Yun Lee, Fiona Gubelmann, Christina Chang, and Paige Spara.
