The Great North is an upcoming animated sitcom on Fox. The series was put for a straight to series order by Fox in May 2019. The Great North is created by Wendy Molyneux, Lizzie Molyneux and Minty Lewis for Fox Broadcasting Company. They also serve as executive producers on the series, along with Loren Bouchard (Bob’s Burgers).
The official website of The Great North describes the series as this-
“The Great North follows the Alaskan adventures of the Tobin family, as a single dad does his best to keep his weird bunch of kids close, especially as the artistic dreams of his only daughter lead her away from the family fishing boat and into the glamorous world of the local mall.”
Cast of The Great North Season 1
The cast of The Great North was announced along with the series’ announcement in May, 2019. Nick Offerman stars as the voice of the central character Beef Tobin. Jenny Slate stars as Beef’s only daughter, Judy Tobin. Will Forte stars as Wolf’ Tobin, Beef’s oldest son. Dulcé Sloan stars as Honeybee, Wolf’s fiancée. Aparna Nancherla stars as Moon, Beef’s youngest son. Paul Rust stars as Ham, Beef’s middle son.
Recurring cast on The Great North includes Megan Mullally as the voice of the Judy’s boss, Alyson; and Alanis Morissette as herself, playing the role of Judy’s imaginary friend.
The Great North – Recent Updates
The first season of The Great North is slated to premiere on Fox during midseason in 2021. This puts its tentative air date some time in the first half of 2021. The show has already been renewed for a second season, ahead of its midseason premiere. On this update, Fox’s President of Entertainment, Michael Thorn, had this to say-
“Wendy, Lizzie, Minty and Loren delivered a show that embodies our animation brand so strongly, they left us no choice but to give this stellar series an early renewal ahead of its midseason debut. Of course, we’d also like to thank our friends at 20th, who continue to be tremendous partners.”
