The War With Grandpa: Plot and Cast
Ed is a recently widowed old man who accidentally attempted to steal from a grocery store. He had trouble with the self checkouts and got into a scene with the workers. Soon, he is visited by his daughter Sally Decker who asks him to move with her. Ed is reluctant at first, but Sally convinces him and gives him her son Peter’s bedroom.
Peter doesn’t like the arrangement because he is forced to live in the attic. Though Ed likes living with Sally, her husband Arthur, and their two daughters Mia and Emma, he spends most of his time thinking about his dead wife.
Soon, Peter declares war on his grandpa and Ed agrees to the war. The rules they set are: they cannot damage other people’s belongings and they cannot tell the family about it. Both start to play pranks on each other such as covering Ed’s record play with shaving foam or removing the screws from Peter’s furniture.
Robert De Niro plays Ed, while Uma Thurman plays Sally, his daughter. Rob Riggle plays Arthur Decker, her husband while Oakes Fegley plays Peter, her son. Laura Marano plays Mia, while T.J. McGibbon plays Emma.
