How did Marvel manage Hydra secret in Agent of SHIELD in season 1?

With Marvel, anyone can be sure that plot twists are a part and parcel of their movies and series. So a plot twist was expected but Hydra infiltrating the SHIELD could not be predicted.

Agents of Shield was first premiered on September 24, 2013, becoming the first Marvel Universe TV show. The series is created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen. The show is about a group of shield agents led by Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), a character form MCU films who played a key role in the formation of Avengers.

Therefore when The Captain America: The Winter Soldier was released, it was too great of a twist for the show as in the movie, Shield was infiltrated by the terrorist organization Hydra. What did Jeffrey Bell reveal about the Hydra secret?

Jeffrey Bell from Agents of Shield explained when was asked about The Winter Soldier twist in the series. As per him keeping this twist a secret was one of his favorite moments from the show. He added, “We weren’t allowed to say the H-word, and we had red pages, and everything was top secret. Later when the reveal was shown to other members Bell claimed that “Watching the reactions on the actors’ faces was about as good as anything we ever did. It was spectacular… It was a great mic drop moment for the show.”
