The first memory I have of “Sonic The Hedgehog” was from my Sega video game console, which had “Sonic” as a complementary game ( I know what you’re thinking, Yes! We were poor). Despite anything that my Mom said, playing “Sonic” had been fruitful for me, thanks to the complementary game, I can write this article today (Take that Mom!).
Anyway, talks for producing a “Sonic” movie had been going on since the 1990s but an original movie was released only in February 2020, “Sonic” in the first week of its release became the highest-grossing video game movie ever with a sum of 306 million dollars acquired worldwide. Naturally, a sequel was announced on May 28, 2020.
The second instalment will be created by the original creators with Jeff Fowler as director and Pat Casey-Josh Miller as writers, nothing has been announced regarding the plot and cast, but we can comfortably assume that Jim Carrey will return as Dr Robotnik, James Marsden as Sonic’s human friend and a police officer, Tika Sumpter as the cop’s wife, Colleen Villard as the voice of Tails and obviously Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic. The plot might continue from the previous movie’s post-credit scene where Dr Robotnik was seen plotting revenge while being stranded on the Mushroom Planet.
(LoL)
The original movie was based on the popular video game “Sonic the Hedgehog”, the movie featured “Sonic” the world’s fastest Hedgehog trying to make a living in its newly found home “Earth” and has to save the planet from Dr Robotnik- an evil scientist planning world domination.
The release date for the sequel hasn’t been announced and we will have to wait for more news.
