Skater XL is a head-first plunge into the world of skateboarding, where you must describe elegance, imagination, and the ultimate trick. Creating, mixing, and modeling tricks with unprecedented board influence as you visit legendary places in California where street legends left their marks.
Release Date
Developer Easy Day Studios moved Skater XL from its initial release date of July 7th. The skateboarding game comes out for the PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One consoles later this month on July 28th.
Also, it has been announced that Skater XL will deliver a map of downtown LA that will include landmarks such as the LA Convention Center, Staples Center, and more.
Gameplay
Dive into the subculture of digital skate, producing plugins, labels, ‘zines, and maps of featured groups. Hit over 60 real skate spots linked by block after block of plazas, classrooms, beaches, homes, car parks, and hallways.
Act as skating legends on the way to becoming skateboarding pro Tiago Lemos, Evan Smith, Tom Asta, or Brandon Westgate.
Skater XL has no tricks built into it, just gesture control by the thumbsticks. Each thumbstick is attached to the skater’s matching foot and the board reacts automatically, as the player pushes the stick.
The opportunities for players to personalize their encounters with Skater XL are infinite. Players will design their entire look with numerous tees, hoodies, caps, and shoes including their skater’s clothing.
Every area to explore is yours. Players should be able to challenge themselves with the flexibility of an open world, perfecting the intricate complexities of a highly complex trick or free-form skate.
Before the release of Skater XL later this month, Easy Day Studios creator announced the list of musicians and bands to be featured on the soundtrack of the skateboarding video.
The final tracklist for the game will be released later this month as the game releases.
The game would also give players, aside from the huge soundtrack, maximum physics-based gameplay with absolute freedom of movement and speech.
Skater XL is scheduled to launch on PS4, Xbox One, and Windows on July 28. A Nintendo Switch port will come later this year, but it has not revealed a release date yet.
