PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is all set to receive a new and small map as it enters its 10th season soon. The new map is called Haven and it’s full of features unseen in previous PUBG maps including an enemy AI faction, an antagonistic helicopter roaming the skies, a deadly armored truck, heavily guarded supply caches, and a smaller size designed for 32 players each match.
The new season is scheduled to release on December 16th for Microsoft Windows and December 17th on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
NEW MAP
The map may measure only 1km x1km, which is smaller than the game’s first map (8kmx8km), but it’s still a pretty big map by most games’ standards. The map is inspired to look like a small industrial city packed with factories, tall buildings, and a residential district. In a sense, it’s a blown-up version of the city-type establishments seen in certain areas of PUBG’s larger maps.
The matches in this map take place as the sun sets, giving it an eerie atmosphere. This sensation is only heightened by the addition of an AI faction of opponents that are constantly hunting you down, called The Pillar.
KILL TRUCK
Another interesting addition to the map is the Pillar Tactical, which is a huge armored truck completely decked out with weaponry, that constantly patrols the streets and it can’t be destroyed. If a player is unlucky enough to get spotted by Pillar’s helicopter, it’ll shine a spotlight on your location, which alerts enemy players to your presence and sics the deadly truck on you. If you do get spotted by the un-killable truck, however, don’t give up all hope as Haven is a densely packed city with tons of buildings that you can run to for shelter from the truck.
TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE MAP
Haven will only be available for the duration of season 10, and with the reduced maximum number of players in a map to 32, it offers only a duo mode (including 1 man duos). Normal bots will not spawn as enemy players, therefore bots will not add to the player count. The match length in Haven will be shorter than a match in a normal PUBG map, so players can expect to earn around 70% of the BP they’d normally earn.
SURVIVOR PASS SEASON 10: BREAKTHROUGH
This season, the survivor pass comes bearing everything you’ll need to make it out of Haven as the last man standing……in style. Player’s will be able to earn cool new looks based on characters of lore and even the new enemy faction, there’ll be a lot of exciting gear to unlock, so get started early and start grinding the pass as soon as it drops on December 16th, 2020.
Get ready to dive into the action this December when the new season comes out and good luck on that chicken dinner!
