Kingdom Hearts IV: Release Date, Gameplay, and Trailer!

Published by Square Enix, Kingdom Hearts IV is an upcoming action role-playing game that will be the fifteenth installment in the Kingdom Hearts series, beginning the “Lost Master” story arc. The game is set after the events of Kingdom Hearts III and Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. The main character Sora gets trapped in the world of Quadratum and his companions Donald Duck and Goofy attempt to find and save him. The new installment of the franchise after Kingdom Hearts III started in January 2020 and the game was officially announced in April 2022.

Kingdom Hearts IV Gameplay

Sora will be confronting Heartless in the game and the special abilities including parkour elements will be returning for the characters. The game will also feature the reaction commands that were a part of Kingdom Hearts II and there is a new scrap and build mechanic more details about daily life and routines of Sora will also be explored in the game. Kingdom Hearts IV will mark the beginning of the Lost Master story arc and it will be taking place in a city called Quadratum. The world is inspired from Tokyo and there is Shibuya and Minami-Aoyama too. Sora’s apartment in Minami-Aoyama will be the main base for the player and Quadratum will be the hub world where players would return after traveling to the rest of the worlds. A lot of other worlds based on Disney will also be featured in the game. The changes in hardware capabilities since the beginning of the series will be an important part of finding the number of worlds created for the game. Sora is a teenager who has a weapon called Keyblade to fight the enemies and reprises his role from the previous entries as the main protagonist. Other characters who would be returning include Donald Duck and Goofy. There is a Keyblade wielder named Strelitzia who has already appeared in the mobile game Kingdom Hearts Union in the past. Other protagonists from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 will also appear with Nomura to find a good balance.

Kingdom Hearts IV Release Date

An official release date for Kingdom Hearts IV is not confirmed yet. The game is still in the development phase and it is not easy to predict a release date for now. Considering the development phase of the fourth part, it is expected to come out in five years. Goofy voice actor Bill Farmer stated that he has not recorded his lines after the release of the trailer. He revealed that he was not aware of the game’s announcement.
