Developed and published by Ghost Story Games, Judas is an upcoming first-person shooter game that is Ken Levine’s first video game since BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea in 2014. Ken Levine is the head of the studio and this was launched after Irrational Games was shut down. In 2014, the game entered development and Levine was already discussing ideas they would like to explore while he appeared at the Game Developers Conference.
They also attempted to make changes to the story and used it to make a replayable game with different outcomes. Levine revealed the following year that it would be a first-person science fiction game and the situation would be similar to the System Shock series. Levine also said that the game will be challenging compared to BioShock and BioShock Infinite.
Let’s check everything about Judas.
Judas Gameplay
Judas is confirmed to be a first-person shooter which is similar to BioShock and System Shock. The trailer revealed that Judas was holding a lot of weapons in her hand like a hammer, a shotgun, and a makeshift crossbow featuring cogs and a chain. But apart from all these, Judas has been given some special powers in her left hand as she holds a firearm in the other hand. The trailer also shows that Judas has got access to a lightning bolt power and a different kind of firepower and there is a possibility that the gamers would be given better powers. If the game follows the same process as we have seen earlier in the immersive-sim genre, then gamers would get to experiment with a collection of innovative weapons and powers to create a lot of combat encounters which will be important for progressing in the game. For now, a lot of details of the gameplay have not been revealed but considering that Bioshock has a great experience in the world of gaming, we can expect that things are going to be amazing.
Judas Release Date
Bloomberg News revealed in 2022 that the game has entered development hell after a lot of employees exited Levine’s company for not being satisfied with the environment of the workplace. The game was disclosed at The Game Awards 2022 and an announcement trailer was also released, which received a positive feedback. The game will be available on Microsoft Windows via Steam and Epic Games. Owner of Ghost Story, Take-Two Interactive, is reportedly planning to release the game by March 2025.
