The famous Mad magazine comic strip Spy vs Spy is back, but now as a featured film. Director Rawson Marshall Thurber has taken the lead and is heard to be writing the script for the adaptation as well for Warner Bros. and Imagine Entertainment. Ron Howard and Brian Grazer will produce for Imagine.
Spy vs Spy deals with two agents who are involved in comical activities and are identical in physical features. They stand out for their unique long, beak-like heads, with their white pupils and black sclera, and one dressed in white and the other in black. The pair are always plotting against each other and finding ways to pull each other down, leading to alternate victory and defeat. The notorious spies even grabbed the limelight on video games and animated TV series. The strip was created by Cuban cartoonist Antonio Prohias, later on, Duck Edwing, Bob Clarke, George Woodbridge, Dave Manak, and Peter Kuper contributed to the wonder.
Thurber is currently working on many projects like Netflix’s Red Notice, starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds, which got disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic along with Kingdom Come, Dust, and Choose Your Own Adventure.
