Antonblast: Release Date, Gameplay, and Trailer!

Stylized as ANTONBLAST, Antonblast is an upcoming platform game made by independent video game company Summitsphere. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the full game is set to release on Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows. The main plot follows the demolition expert Dynamite Anton, set on recovering his collection of spirits stolen by Satan.

Antonblast Gameplay

Antonblast featured demolitions expert Dynamite Anton who has been working in Boiler City and his skin can easily attract Satan, who has been ruling the underworld. Anton’s spirits are stolen by Satan and Anton eventually embarks on a journey to find them as soon as possible. The entire group is accompanied by someone named Dynamite Annie and the pair also have to go through different levels full of Satan’s minions to discover the spirits. They then need to turn on the detonator and go back to the beginning of all the levels. The main attack is called Clutch and it can leave a big damage on the enemies alongside destroying obstacles. The Clutch can also be powered up when the meter is full and pressing the button can send Anton in a high-speed Clutch Spin. The player can also use the hammer in a circular motion to fly off the ground and finish the enemies on top. The levels give more importance to destruction and collection of items and there are certain things that can help to restore the health of the gamer.

The game also has a few blocks that can be broken easily and some blocks can also be removed with the help of a detonator. The player’s combo can also be expanded when a block is destroyed, leading to more points. The levels are separated into some rooms and layers. Anton can jump through a lot of springs and can transform the other layer with the help of a detonator. The player then needs to turn on a detonator which would open the entry to another exit. There is another event called Happy Hour where the player needs to return to the exit within a limited time. The blocks that proved to be a hurdle in the way of the gamer become intangible at the Happy Hour, launching a new route.

Antonblast Release Date

Antonblast was shown at PAX East 2023 and was later featured at the Guerrilla Collective Showcase 2023, where a new public demo was announced featuring updated mechanics and an additional level, Cinnamon Springs. But the official release date of the game is yet to be announced.
