Crowsworn: Release Date, Gameplay, and Trailer!

Developed by Mongoose Rodeo, Crowsworn is an upcoming Metroidvania game that was funded on Kickstarter. The game belongs to the sub-genre of action-adventure game called Metroidvania and it will be focusing on non-linearity and utility-gated exploration and progression.

The name is said to have derived elements from other video game series like Metroid and Castlevania and they usually have an interconnected world map that could be explored by the players. However, the other parts of the game won’t be accessible until they obtain all kinds of items like weapons, knowledge, and more.

Crowsworn Gameplay

Crowsworn is going to feature multiple elements of the soul-like genre. The basic premise will be set in a fallen kingdom called Fearanndal which is also struggling with a curse. The player will be in control of the lead character who will appear in the form of a plague doctor and open his eyes inside a coffin after being diagnosed with dementia. While you portray the lead character, you have to explore the entire kingdom and discover the source of the curse.

The player would be confronting enemies by using a scythe and two guns. They would also get to use other powers and magical abilities in combat and while using Corvian powers, there would be an extension of a form of energy called Malice that can also be recharged by killing enemies with the scythe. The game has other things like platforming, side quests, and a lot of bosses. There is a boss rush mode alongside a DLC expansion after being launched.

Crowsworn Release Date

The developers have confirmed that Crowsworn will be released sometime after December 2023. The game will be released for Windows, macOS, Linux, Nintendo Switch, and other consoles.
