Dying Light: Hellraid is postponed! New date and know more!

Dying Light: Hellraid is a game under development by Techland. It was expected to be released for Windows, PS4, and Xbox One in 2015, but it has been on hold since then. A smartphone spin-off titled Hellraid: Escape was released in 2014.

Hellraid will feature both multiplayer and single-player games as well as a ‘Game Master’ online mode. The game must be played from a first-person perspective and must contain content that is created randomly. The online co-op mode was revealed for featuring up to 4 players.

Hellraid postponed

The developer tweeted the release, and directly cited beta test input as the decision motivating force.

Techland just agreed to cancel Dying Light: Hellraid DLC just days before its expected date. Had all gone according to schedule, the Hellraid DLC would be released this Thursday, July 23rd.

The sequel was indefinitely postponed in January, so Hellraid is necessary to keep the series running in the meantime. However, after the beta test the Techland has now moved its launch date to August 13 for PC, and August 14 for PS4 and Xbox One.

3 weeks is not a lot of production time, but it is enough to do a lot of checking for quality control and repair bugs. Ideally, it will be able to compete in the way Techland needs when Hellraid arrives on August 13th. Meanwhile, most of Techland ‘s staff are working hard on Dying Light 2.

Gameplay

The Hellraid DLC is set to take players to a fantasy world where they must fight with medieval swords, axes, and hammers against evil monsters. Players will enter the new world through a magically emerging arcade machine in the basement of the Dying Light tower.

The new mode created, provides players with rewards to complete and reward with new prizes as they visit the fortress. Players will take the mode for up to four players in solo or co-op, compete together to boost Hellraid ranks, and gain access to new weapons to return to the main game.

Techland hasn’t stated what recommendations it will use in the title. Players complained about various technological problems in the beta while others were more worried that Hellraid played more like a medieval-themed base game re-skin with inadequate content to make it worth it.
