Letterkenny Season 9: Release Date, Plot and Others!

After the massive success of eight seasons, Letterkenny is coming back with it’s 9th season and fans are excited. Developed by Jared Keeso and Jacob Tierney, the series is a Canadian television sitcom which airs on Hulu. The series started off as Youtube web series Letterkenny Problems. In 2015 it was commissioned as a television series by Crave and it first premiered on February 2016 and was later aired on The Comedy Network. The series also won The Best Comedy Series award in 2017.

Release Date and Trailer:

Five months after the premiere of season 8, the series was renewed for a ninth season in June 2020. The coronavirus pandemic has affected the filming of a vast number of shows resulting in a delay in the release of the shows, so is the case with Letterkenny. Unfortunately, the network has not yet given out the release date yet. But we are expecting the show to air in 2021 if the situation improves. The season 8 of the show premiered on Hulu on December 27, 2019. Season 1 to season 7 comprised of 6 episodes each. Season 8 gave us 7 fun-filled episodes. The trailer of season 9 is not out yet.

What is it about?

“Letterkenny revolves around a small rural Canadian community of the same name, and most episodes open with the text: “There are 5000 people in Letterkenny. These are their problems.” The series focuses on siblings Wayne and Katy, who run a small farm and produce stand with help from Wayne’s friends Daryl and Squirrely Dan. It also focuses on ice hockey players Reilly and Jonesy, two best friends who are involved in an on-and-off polyamorous relationship with Katy. Episodes deal with small-town life amongst different types of people: the farmers, the out-of-towners who make up the local ice hockey team, the town’s closeted minister, the drug addicts, members of the nearby First Nation reserve, the local Mennonites and Québécois.“(Source- Wiki)

One of the most attractive plot features is the running jokes and quick wit all the characters possess. The use of puns and wordplay that the characters use is also noteworthy which adds to the humour of the show.

Who is in it?

We are expecting the usual cast of the series to return for the ninth season as well. Nothing is sure about whether we will get to see new characters in the next season. The main cast members are Jared Keeso as Wayne, Michelle Mylette as Katy, Trevor Wilson as Dan, Dylan Playfair as Reilly, Tyler Johnston as Stewart, Nathan Dales as Dary, Jacob Tierney as Glen, Andrew Herr as Jonesy, Michelle Mylett as Katy and Dan Petronijevic as McMurray.
