Loki Series: There’s A Possibility That It Has Already Been Renewed For Season 2!

Loki is an upcoming series that is said to air on Disney+. It is created by Michael Waldron. The series was confirmed in 2018 and began filming in January 2020. Filming was suspended in March 2020 due to the global pandemic. The series is said to release in 2021 and is a part of Phase Four of the MCU.

The “God Of Mischief” was initially portrayed as a villain because of his various attempts to conquer Asgard or Earth. Loki teamed up with other powerful villains to achieve his aims. But his character underwent several developments throughout the movies and he became more of an antihero than a supervillain!

Is Loki Already Renewed For A Season 2?

Recently, actor Clark Gregg gave an interview to Variety about his role as Phil Coulson in the final season of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. During the interview, the actor let it slip that the series has already been renewed for a second season. He said, “I’d be lying if I didn’t say, boy, that would be interesting to start the experiment over. Doing 10 episodes or 12 episodes the way Tom Hiddleston told me he was doing [on Loki] with that kind of budget and that Marvel Cinematic production team.”

When the series was announced, it was said to have only 6 episodes. It seems highly unlikely for the first season to have 10-12 episodes because other MCU shows on Disney+ also have an initial 6 episode order. So there are speculations that both the seasons were shot back to back. This explains the 10-12 episodes. And it comes as no surprise to us if this is true because of the popularity of the titular character!

What Is The Possible Story For The Series?

The God Of Mischief died tragically in Avengers: Infinity War. So the series will take place back in time, after the events of Avengers: Endgame. The synopsis says that “Loki uses the Tesseract to travel through time and alter human history”. 

Apart from Tom Hiddleston, the series also casts Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw in undisclosed roles.
