Hello, Readers! Malignant is a 2021 American horror film directed by James Wan, based on an original tale by Wan, Ingrid Bisu, and Cooper and written by Akela Cooper. Writer-director James Wan is a one-man horror franchise factory, having released the Saw, Insidious, and Conjuring universes on an unknowing and more unsettled globe.

Malignant was released in theatres in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures under the New Line Cinema label, and it will be available for one month on HBO Max. Critics gave the film mixed reviews, calling it “either painfully ordinary or bloodily spectacular.”

The film has a 75 percent approval rating on review aggregate Rotten Tomatoes, based on 71 reviews with an average rating of 6.1/10. The film received a weighted average score of 51 out of 100 from 18 reviewers on Metacritic, signifying “mixed or mediocre reviews.”

CinemaScore scored the picture a “C” on a scale of A+ to F, while PostTrak claimed that 59 percent of audience members gave it a positive rating, with 38 percent indicating they would certainly recommend it.

The Plot of the Movie

The movie follows Madison (Annabelle Wallis) is a woman who begins to have frightening dreams of killings. These terrifying dreams freeze her with terror, and they only become worse until she realizes that these are not visions or dreams, but reality.
