Release Date
Röki, a spectacular adventure influenced by Scandinavian mythology, has an official release date. The title is heading to the PC on July 23rd. The release date was revealed after the new video, first aired at the Guerilla Collective live stream.
Gameplay
Röki is an adventure game inspired by Scandinavian mythology-a gritty, dystopian fairy tale based on a romantic storyline, tempting visual style, classic puzzles and immersive exploration.
We’re joining Tove on a wonderful quest to save her family. A journey that takes her deep into a mysterious, long-forgotten realm of ancient legends filled with odd places and even stranger animals.
Visit the ancient forest, solve its puzzles, save your family in this new adventure game for all.
Conversations with NPCs and solving spatial puzzles are the highlight of the gameplay. However, exploration is also significant, diversified by scrambling, leaping from platform to platform, and squeezing by crevices.
The main feature of Röki is the simple, vibrant style of the visuals, stylized like an animated video. It’s complemented by an ambient soundtrack.
Röki is an indicator of what can happen when artistic creativity, experience in the industry, and constraints on capital clash. Polygon Treehouse set out to create a new take on the classic story of fairy tales, with its distinctive graphic aesthetics first created out of desperation then eventually beginning to develop its look and feel.
Röki’s heading to the PC on July 23 via Steam and GOG, reaching the Nintendo Switch later this year.
