SaGa: Emerald Beyond: Release Date, Gameplay, and Trailer!

Developed and published by Square Enix, SaGa: Emerald Beyond[a] is an upcoming role-playing video game. The basic premise will feature six characters who will be traveling in various worlds linked to a realm known as The Beyond. Apart from exploring various worlds, the player also needs to complete the quests which would unlock new events.

There will be turn-based combat emphasizing timeline manipulation and learning new skills. The game entered development in 2015. Akitoshi Kawazu joined as the director alongside Satoshi Kuramochi and Kenji Ito as composer. Kuwazu intended to establish the mechanics of Scarlet Grace and also expand the narrative and gameplay.

SaGa: Emerald Beyond Gameplay

SaGa: Emerald Beyond will be a world where players will be controlling six different characters in 17 worlds. There will be different worlds where players have to follow a lot of glowing lines, also called Emerald Waves, leading to a lot of quests. Combat will be dependent with each party performing the actions from BP, which will be shared among the players. There will be a thing called Formations which are pre-set positions for the characters influencing their abilities in a battle. This will also bring changes to the turn order timeline for more advantages like the launch of team attacks when a lot of party members are available in an adjacent angle. Compared to the SaGa games, the characters would get to learn new skills randomly.

The main storyline will be set in a realm where different worlds can be found in isolation and they will be connected through Beyond, an interdimensional space. The story will start when an event comes into effect, bringing a lot of changes to the worlds linked to the Beyond. The protagonists include Tsunanori Mildo, a man who has a lot of magical gifts. The second will be Ameya Aisling who is a witch, Siugnas who is a vampire lord trying to get back his realm, Bonnie Blair and Formina Franklyn who are rookie police officers trying to solve an assassination, and Diva No. 5, who is a songstress robot who has lost her voice and original body.

SaGa: Emerald Beyond Release Date

A new SaGa title was announced by 2021 during a live stream where Kaeazu expected that the game will be revealed by next year. Square Enix was involved in the trademark of the title in October 2022 and the game was announced by 2023. The announcement was made via Nintendo Direct broadcast.

The game is set to release in 2024 for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows. But the exact release date is yet to be announced.
