Star Trek: Discovery, Season update and more!
Star Trek: Discovery is an American television series streaming on CBS All Acess. Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman are the creators of the series. The series is in addition to the original star trek franchise after Star Trek: Enterprise concluded in the year 2005. The series is quite famous among teenagers and gives an amazing experience to its viewers.
Star Trek: Discovery Cast
The cast of the show stars Sonequa Martin-Green as Michael Burnham, a female science specialist on the Discovery. Doug Jones, Shazad Latif, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, Jason Isaacs, Wilson Cruz, Anson Mount, David Ajala, and Rachel Ancherill share the screen together.
Discovery Plot
In season 1 ended with USS Discovery coming face to face with USS Enterprise. While season 2 revolved around a fight between the family one chooses and the family one is born into. We also witnessed throughout the season ultimate space flying and explosions, as a result, making the series full of action.
Star Trek Season and Episodes
The makers have so far released three seasons of the series. The first season which first streamed on CBS All Acess on September 24, 2017. The recent season released on October 15, 2020, with 13 episodes.
Some good news for star trek fans! Kurtzman has signed a 5-year deal with the CBS network to explain the Star Trek Franchise like Marvel Cinematic Universe. That is to say, Kurtzman is looking forward to releasing various series, miniseries, spin-offs of the franchise. CBS and Kurtzman have started to refer to this expansion as ” Star Trek Universe”.
Nominations and Awards
The series has been nominated for GLAAD Media Awards for Outstanding Drama Series in 2020 and Critics’ Choice Super Awards for Best Science Fiction/ Fantasy series in 2021. The series has won Saturn Awards for Best New Media Television series in the year 2018. Sonequa Martin-Green has received the award of Best Actress various times for her role in Star Trek Discovery.
