The Lamplighters League: Release Date, Gameplay, and Trailer!

Developed by Harebrained Schemes, The Lamplighters League is an upcoming turn-based strategy video game published by Paradox Interactive which will be released for Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Series S. The premise is set during the 30s and the players need to accumulate a group of people from stopping an ancient cult called Banishrd Court which intends to take over the world.

The Lamplighters League Gameplay

The players will get access to three agents when the game starts and there will be ten characters overall with different abilities and weapons. The skills can be updated at the player’s headquarters with the help of cards and the same card can bring more updates to the combat. Characters would also be stressed as the game progresses further and players also need to rotate their agents letting a few of them take a rest and rejuvenate at the headquarters. Players can completely explore the levels in every mission and they can also collect various items and take down enemies.

The gamers would also get to put some traps and place their agents in a place before getting engaged in combat. Combat is the same as other games like XCOM and Gears Tactics. After defeating all the enemies, the gamers can return to infiltration mode and although the maps are made by the team, enemies and interactable are created with proper procedures. The game also has a world map where members of the Lamplighters League need to stop the progress of the three hostile factions of the game as they spread terror all around. Agents who are at the base can be sent on side expeditions.

The Lamplighters League Release Date

Harebrained Schemes is currently working on the development of the game. They have previously worked on the Shadowrun trilogy and BattleTech video games. The pulp magazines published during the 30s have been a major inspiration behind the game. In March 2023, it was announced that the game would be released on October 3, 2023, for Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Series S.
