It is a sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines (2004), and is part of the World of Darkness series and based on the tabletop role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade. Hardsuit Labs was involved in the development but was later joined by The Chinese Room in 2021.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Gameplay
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be a first-person game and gamers would get the freedom to create their own character and can also choose a clan background which would decide their abilities. The basic premise is set in Seattle where the player can explore and have conversations with non-playable characters in different ways. The player can also team up with various factions and confront all the enemies with numerous tactics. The player needs blood to remain alive and also feed on humans. However, there is a penalty for using different vampire powers or feeding when someone is watching. This violation can also lead to changes in gameplay.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Release Date
The game was scheduled to be released in March 2020 but was delayed to another date for unknown reasons. It was postponed again to 2021. According to Paradox CEO Ebba Ljungerud, the delays happened due to changes in the staff members alongside the Covid-19 pandemic. There was also some delay in getting the development kits for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
There was a change in developers by February 2021 but it was delayed again. The Chinese Room later joined as a developer and now it is scheduled to be out by the end of 2023 for different platforms like PlayStation, Windows, and more.
